A Stuart Resident will be celebrating a significant milestone this weekend. Wyona Williams turns 100 on Monday, and there will be a celebration open house at the Mount Vernon United Methodist Church on Saturday from 2-4pm.
Williams’ daughter Darlene tells Raccoon Valley Radio, the soon-to-be centenarian was born in Guthrie County and has lived here her entire life. Wyona was married to her husband Donald for 78 years and they had four children. She spent the majority of her life on their farm before moving to The Willows Assisted Living Complex in Stuart. She also donated her time and talents to the Casey United Methodist Church. Darlene calls her mother the heart and soul of their family and someone to look up to.
Williams has requested no gifts, but cards are okay to be sent. They can be sent to: 324 SW 6th St Unit 112, Stuart, Iowa 50250.
