A large group of determined athletes helped the Panorama Panther softball team make a sufficient improvement this summer. The Panthers 2018 season ended on July 6 in Irwin with a record of 11 wins and 12 losses, including six more wins than last summer’s 5-17 campaign. The Raccoon Valley Radio Network interviewed Panther head softball coach Ryan Nail on Monday’s Guthrie County PM Sports Page and credited Panorama’s improved season on the hard work of his athletes. “Softball was a priority to them,” Nail said, “They put a lot of work into the offseason, but there’s still some large room for improvement. I think this year was a guiding light to show them, in some cases, what they are capable of if we make a few adjustments and put a little more time and effort.”

Panorama graduates only two players off this year’s squad in infielders Kellie Prince (third base) and Nicole Rolfes (first base). Should all six Panorama juniors come back out for softball next season, the Panthers would have their biggest class of seniors in Nail’s six years guiding the program.
