Greene County was shut out of the Central Iowa Class 3A Softball All-District team from the Iowa Girls Coaches Association. Despite no Rams being on the team, there were nine players from Heart of Iowa Activities Conference schools on the 17 member squad. Geographically, the Central District in 3A covers from the Minnesota border to Des Moines.
Heart of Iowa Activities Conference champion and Class 3A State Tournament runner-up Roland-Story (Story City) had three players on the first team and conference runner-up North Polk (Alleman) also had three. Saydel (Des Moines) had two players on the all-district team and Nevada had one.
Last year, Greene County center fielder Megan Carey was on the all-district team and eventually was named to the third all-state team in 3A. This season, Carey batted .360 as a left-handed slap hitter from the leadoff position. She went 15 of 16 stealing bases and struck out just 11 times in 86 at-bats, but was left off the all-district team.
The Rams went 8-19 under the direction of head coach Tom Kennedy.
