It’s been a little over a year since Walter Aviation took over operations at the Perry Municipal Airport. Earlier this year, they joined the Chamber of Commerce. To celebrate both occasions and officially welcome the business to the City, this Friday the Chamber will be hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Walter Aviation Owner Jonathan Walter is excited for the event, and not just because he’ll get to use the giant scissors. He says he’s most looking forward to meeting more members of the Chamber and the public. “We’re looking forward to working with the Chamber, and just being involved in the community more. The first year (we were) just getting moved down and getting everything established. Now we’re ready to start moving into the community and becoming part of the community.”
Walter adds, he was involved with the Chamber of Commerce in Independence, and he’s looking forward to an even closer relationship with the Perry Chamber. The ribbon-cutting event will be held Friday at 9 a.m. at the Perry Municipal Airport, located just west of the City on Highway 141.
