Greene County head softball coach Tom Kennedy saw his team go 8-19 in 2018 after posting a 10-20 mark in 2017. Prior to that, Ram teams had nine straight winning seasons. This years’ Rams saw declines in defensive percentage and in batting averages overall. There was also inexperience on the pitching rubber.
About 2019 pitching prospects following the graduation of top pitcher Samantha Hardaway, the coach said, “Jenns Beyers can go back on the mound if we want to use her there. We have a young seventh grade and if she can make that next step out of eighth grade next year, it’s something we’ll look at. Jenna’s true position is shortstop, and if she plays at the next level, shortstop is most likely where she’ll be. And, we have some other pitchers that if they want to put in the time, I think there’s a real opportunity for them.”
