The 2018 Adair County Fair wrapped up on Sunday. There were dozens of exhibitions, performances, and a new set of royalty.
On Wednesday the fair kicked off with a free supper and the coronation of Adair’s Madison Suhr as this year’s Adair County Fair Queen. Aubrey Kramer and Remington Low were also recognized as this year’s Miss and Mister Adair County, respectively. Thursday’s exhibitions were capped off with the monster truck rally and a $30,000 donation from Karl Chevrolet for electrical upgrades. Fair Board President Scott Steele explains what those funds will help implement.
“We’ve been doing a major electrical upgrade here; we’ve got LED lights. We’ve got transformers being changed. Power lines going underground. We’ve completely redone our bathrooms here in the courtyard. We’ve got two new showers on each side. We’ve been making as many improvements as we can do and we’ve come across with what our goals were to be able to improve.”
On Friday the inaugural Ninja Warrior Obstacle Course saw several hopeful wall-scalers of all ages attempt the course. A demolition derby on Saturday and rodeo on Sunday rounded out the Grandstand entertainment. Despite uncertainty with Greenfield’s water supply during the early stages, scores of animals were displayed and showcased.
Raccoon Valley Radio was also there every day of the fair making live broadcasts, playing music, and giving local announcements. To see pictures and results from the Fair, click on the Adair County Fair tab on the right hand side of our website’s homepage, or visit our Facebook page.
