Heart of Iowa Activities Conference champion and Class 3A State Tournament runner-up Roland-Story (Story City) had six players on the 13 person first all-conference team. Coach Amber Doyle’s Norsemen edged North Polk (Alleman) by one game for the league title and R-S nipped the Comets by a run in a regional final contest to qualify for State. NP had four players on the first team, with two from Saydel (Des Moines) and one from Nevada.
Greene County had three players on the second team in senior Samantha Hardaway, and juniors Jenna Beyers and Megan Carey. Rams on the honorable mention list are freshmen Danielle Hoyle and Lily Muir. Details on these five can be found elsewhere on this website in Sports. In all, 43 players received recognition from the league’s eight head coaches.
