The ACGC softball team saw slightly improved marks in the circle this season. The Chargers dropped their overall ERA by .06 and opposing batting average by .04 between season one and season two.
Incoming senior Savana Fuller has been the starting pitcher for the gold and black the last two seasons. In 39 starts she has accumulated a record of 15-24, going 7-12 in 2017 and 8-12 in 2018. Though her individual ERA increased by nearly four tenths of a point, her walks and strikeouts were nearly identical. She walked just one additional batter and struck out two fewer between her sophomore and junior seasons.
In their inaugural two seasons, ACGC has featured just four other pitchers in the circle. Incoming sophomore Jorja Hoover picked up the other win this season against West Central Valley. Fuller picked up the lone shutout this season against West Harrison, defeating the Hawkeyes in a rematch during the Charger Invitational 6-0. She pitched a complete game, striking out six and walking two while allowing just one hit. Last season three different pitchers recorded a shutout victory, including Fuller, Hoover, and Katelyn Thompson.
Tomorrow we’ll take a look at the pitching performances delivered by the baseball team.
