Tomorrow marks the start of the 2018 Iowa State Softball tournament for the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers. Before heading to Fort Dodge, the squad receivied their first round of postseason awards. ADM head softball coach Rick Dillinger shared on social media Saturday afternoon that the Iowa Girls Coaches Association named senior Ashley Tennnant and sophomore Abbie Hlas to the 2018 Class 4A West All-District squad for their contributions during the season.

Tennant’s 14 home runs top Class 4A softball and are the fifth most in the state of Iowa. She also changed positions at the start of the season, moving from third base to catcher. Abbie Hlas has the most innings thrown of any pitcher this season by a wide margin. She’s started all 40 games for ADM, posting a 33-7 record in 264.2 innings pitched. West Delaware’s Macey Kleitsch has the second most innings pitched in Iowa with 214. Hlas’s 335 strikeouts are the third most in the state regardless of class.

The ADM Tigers resume their season tomorrow in the Class 4A State Softball tournament in Fort Dodge as the bracket’s No. 1 seed.
