A Greenfield man will face federal charges for weapons possession by a felon.
According to Union County Attorney Tim Kenyon, 47-year-old Andre L. Sewell will face multiple counts of weapons possession by a felon, a Class D Felony, in federal court, as the charges came from other states. Kenyon, the special prosecutor for the original offenses in Adair County, tells Raccoon Valley Radio that all charges in Adair County District Court were dismissed late last month to allow the federal charges to take precedence. He also says that Adair County law enforcement took the utmost due diligence when cooperating with the federal investigation.
The original charges in Adair County stem from an alleged assault on May 4th. The complaint states Sewell assaulted a woman with whom he was living with and was romantically involved. The charges related to the assault were also dismissed without prejudice. Kenyon says the assault charges could be revisited in Adair County following the federal investigation, but says they will likely be absorbed.
