The softball season for the West Central Valley Wildcats ended 11 days ago, and the squad graduates one of their top hitters from this season. Taylor Beane recorded a team-best 38 hits in 93 at-bats. She also tops the team with 11 doubles, seven home runs and 29 runs batted in. Beane split time between three positions this summer including pitcher, shortstop, and centerfield. Along with Beane, the Wildcats graduate Kennedy Lose, Grace Dupuy, and Erin Franklin. The West Central Valley Wildcat softball team ended their season July 2 in Stuart, falling 6-2 to the Clarinda Cardinals in the play-in game of the Class 2A Region 2 bracket. The Wildcats finished the season with a 5-24 overall record.
