There are still a few more events coming up with the Perry Public Library’s “Discover Space” Summer Reading Programs, before each has its finale at the end of July.
First, the Children’s program will be hosting the Blank Park Zoo for Show and Tell on Wednesday, July 18th at 10 a.m. The event is free and open to all ages, but attendees must be signed up for the summer reading program in order to attend. However, no registration is required. Next, there are two more showings of “Star Wars” movies for the teen summer reading program, with “Episode VIII: the Last Jedi” tomorrow, and “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” next Friday. Both viewings will be at 3:30 p.m. in the large meeting room.
Finally, the Friends of the Perry Public Library are hosting a UFO FUNdraiser on Saturday, July 21st from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. In this case, UFO stands for UnFinished Objects, and attendees are invited to work on some crafts and other projects they’ve been wanting to complete. Registration is limited to 20 people, and cost to participate is a $30 donation to the Friends group. You will receive six feet of crafting space with electrical outlets, lunch, dinner, dessert, snacks, and beverages to go along with 11 hours of craft time.
For more information about these and other programs, or to register for the UFO event, stop in or call the library at 515-465-3569.
