As the postseason tournament begins tomorrow, the Adel Desoto Minburn Tigers baseball team (13-15 overall) is playing its best ball of the season. The Tigers closed the regular season with a 4-3 road win in Pella Tuesday. Senior Dalton Hews had a notable day with two hits, two stolen bases, and a walk. Hews started the game pitching, allowing one run on three hits, walking one and striking out two. Seniors Nick Lindgren, Nick Dufoe, and Ethan Meyer each scored a run in the victory, the sixth win for ADM baseball in their last seven contests. The Tigers recorded three complete game victories last week including two perfomances from seniors. Dufoe threw a complete one hit shutout in a 1-0 win at Ballad on July 2. Hews allowed one earned run and scattered two hits in seven full innings in a 5-1 win at Van Meter on July 5. The ADM baseball team takes a 13-15 overall record on the road tomorrow as they face the Grinnell Tigers in the second semifinal game of the Class 3A District 14 tournament at 7pm.
