Greene County’s Rams meet Glenwood’s Rams in a Class 3A District 16 first round baseball game in Winterset this Friday at 5 p.m. Greene County ended it’s regular season with three straight losses and just two total runs scored. The Rams fell to Ogden 2-0, to North Polk (Alleman) 2-0, and again to NP 3-2, this time in eight innings. Those two teams have both topped the 20 win plateau, while the Rams are 14-11.
Glenwood has lost about two-thirds of its games, and Greene County head coach John Hupp talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about being the higher seeded team. “It’s probably been a while since we’ve been one of the top few seeds in a district. We have to make sure we’re not looking forward to a potential rematch with Winterset, or on to Substate and potentially number one Harlan. It’s a situation where we have to take care of business against Glenwood. We’ll throw our ace (Ben Wilkins) out there and go from there.”
Coverage Friday starts at 4:30 p.m. on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
