The City of Casey is currently experiencing a mischievous oddity near Abram Rutt Park. Two manhole covers have been stolen near the park in the last 30 days.

City representatives tell Raccoon Valley Radio that the City ordered two new manhole covers after the first one was taken. Each one is around $250 and the second was purchased as a spare. About five days after they placed the replacement cover, it too was stolen. The City is looking into alternatives, including locking mechanisms to make it harder to steal, or cheaper yet effective material to make it less desirable to take.
