A much improved 2018 season for the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers softball team continues to impress the folks at the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. The IGHSAU issued their final softball rankings for all classes Thursday afternoon, and the Tigers are the organization’s second-ranked squad in Class 4A. Raccoon River Conference member Carlisle ends the regular season as the top team in the Class 4A poll, while the defending champion Winterset Huskies enter the postseason tournament as the third-best team. The ADM Tigers posted a record of 31 wins and seven losses during the regular season, a 12 win improvement from last summer. The Tigers host the Carroll Tigers tomorrow evening in the Class 4A Region 3 semifinal round. Carroll topped the Perry Jayettes, 3-1, in Carroll last night. The Raccoon Valley Radio Network’s True County K 107.9 will provide live play by play coverage of the game starting with pregame comments at 6:30 p.m. from ADM’s Softball Field.
