The high school softball regular season is over for the Greene County Rams at eight wins and 18 losses. Coach Tom Kennedy’s team travels to Roland tomorrow night to face number nine Roland-Story in a Class 3A Region 3 first round contest on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
Greene County is 0-2 this season against the Norsemen, losing Heart of Iowa Activities Conference games 5-3 and 7-4. The Rams ended the conference campaign with a 3-1 victory in Jewell vs. South Hamilton on Friday night, then collected a forfeit from PCM when the Mustangs told the Rams they didn’t have enough players to play a rescheduled June 30 make up game. Greene County went 6-8 in the league, while R-S has a make up game in Nevada tonight. A victory tonight by R-S means they’ll win the conference title outright. The Norsemen take a 24-4 mark into their game tonight.
