The Perry Public Library is one again hosting their Adult Summer Reading Program, and they’re keeping with the overall theme of “Discover Space.”

Library Director Mary Murphy says they have an assortment of space-themed programs and events planned for the adult readers. They will also once again offer prizes for participants who submit book reviews. Murphy says for every review someone turns in, they will be given a star-shaped item, like a notepad or chip clip. When they turn in six reviews, they will get a coupon for the book sale shelf. Additionally, every book review is an entry for the grand prize drawings. The prizes for this year include an overnight stay at Hotel Pattee, an Amazon Kindle, and Perry Chamber Bucks.

Murphy adds, they’re trying something different with the program this year, and it comes with a special prize. “The added thing this year, is that we’re going to have a BINGO card; which if you fill in a BINGO — like help with a program, read a nonfiction book, you know things that are a little bit different — then the grand prize drawing is a 30-minute ride in an airplane by Walter Aviation! They’ll take you up and take you around Perry and the Perry area.”

You can sign up for the Perry Adult Summer Reading Program at any time, and it is free to participate. For more information or to register, stop into the library or call them at 515-465-3569.
