Bondurant Farrar swept a doubleheader from Perry Wednesday night defeating the Jayettes 9-1 and 4-3. Game one belonged to the Lady Jays after jumping out to a quick 3-0 lead. Perry tried to bounce back after a Macy Killmer RBI single to cut it to 3-1 but the Lady Jays responded with six unanswered to seal the deal. Perry finished with four hits including a single and double from Jayna Kenney. Sidney Vancil added the other Perry hit. Alyssa Kruger went the distance allowing eight earned runs off 12 total hits.
Kruger was sharp in game two keeping the Lady Jays off balance with consistent off-speed pitches and drop balls early in the count. Perry had opportunities early to tag a big inning but couldn’t come up with a timely hit. Bondurant Farrar struggled with control issuing five early walks in the first couple of innings. Kenney and Diw earned bases loaded walks to force in Perry’s first couple of runs. The Jayettes added their third run in the 4th inning when Adrianna Eastman raced home on a wild pitch. Two pitches later, Gabbie West was thrown out trying to score on a wild pitch. Bondurant Farrar scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to pull off the come from behind win. The Lady Jays had four hits in the inning.
