The West Central Valley School Board met in a special session Monday.

The Board approved remaining with the Iowa Association of School Boards’ Safety Group Insurance Program as their District Insurance provider for the 2018-2019 fiscal year. The total cost for the annual premiums is $137,000. This decision is against the district’s recommendation of leaving the Safety Group in favor of the Iowa Public School Insurance Program, which would have cost $124,000. Shaw-Belden Insurance will stay on as the local agent for the District.

They also discussed changes to Board policy, and officially updated a portion of the policy for postsecondary enrollment options (PSEO).
