Tuesday, June 26th
11:00am: An officer performed a Funeral Escort.
11:50am: Julie Johnson reported a male subject with several children walking on 220th Street, near North Elm Street. An officer made contact with the subjects and learned they were walking home from a dentist visit.
4:05pm: Casey’s reported the possible tampering with a gas pump at 500 North Elm Street. The tamper seal was partially removed on the pump, but access was not made to the pump.
6:38pm: A caller advised of a dog left in a vehicle at 1409 North Elm Street. The officer did not locate the reported vehicle.
7:13pm: The fireworks stand at 1207 North Elm Street reported receiving a possible counterfeit $20.00 Bill. The officer is investigating.
7:20pm: Brenda Batschelet requested a Welfare Check on a female in the 1000 Block of West Adams Street. The officer’s investigation showed the female has been making her friends call in a request for the Welfare Checks. The officer advised the female to only call if a real emergency is occurring, or she will face possible criminal charges in the future.
9:12pm: A caller advised of a vehicle running a posted Stop Sign at Monroe and Chestnut Streets. The caller followed the vehicle to Oly’s Corner at 208 West Lincoln Way Street. The officer arrived and made contact with the female driver and 3 juvenile children in the vehicle. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Amanda Jo Goodpaster, 30 of Grand Junction for, “OWI 1 st Offense – Serious, and 3 Counts of Child Endangerment – Aggravated.”
11:29pm: John Thompson reported he had loaned a relative his vehicle and they had failed to return it as discussed. The vehicle arrived home as Thompson was speaking with the officer. He advised no further assistance was needed.
