A rare three game day for the Greene County baseball team ended Tuesday night with the Rams earning a 9-0 victory over non-conference opponent Woodward-Granger. Earlier, Greene County and Roland-Story (Story City) split a Heart of Iowa Activities Conference make up twin bill with the Rams winning 2-1 in game one, before R-S won the second game, 5-4. All three games were at Allensworth Field in Jefferson. Coach John Hupp’s team takes an overall record of 11-8 and conference mark of 5-5 into a make up game tonight in Jefferson with Nevada. The Hawks fell to 15-6.

Senior Wade Adcock picked up the pitching victory after going the first five innings. He allowed no runs on five hits, with two strikeouts and one walk. Sophomore Brent Riley threw the final two innings. He gave up no runs on two hits and two walks, and he struck two batters out.

Adcock had a double for the only Greene County extra base hit. Riley and Ben Wilkins each had two singles and two runs batted in. Jordan Patterson and Bryce Hoyle each had one RBI, and Nick Breon, Tyler Teeples, and Carter Morton each had a base hit.

The Nevada game can be heard tonight on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. It will resume where it left off on June 18 in a first inning 0-0 tie and the Rams batting with one out and no one on base. Ben Wilkins is on the hill for Greene County. Air time is approximately 7 p.m.
