We have new information regarding the river flood warning for our listening area.
The Dallas County Engineer’s office confirms to Raccoon Valley Radio that the portion of Highway 169, near the Raccoon River, that was closed is now back open to traffic. With the opening the roadway, the National Weather Service has cancelled the river flood warning for Greene and Dallas counties. According to the US Army Corp of Engineers River Gages website, the Middle Raccoon River near Bayard was slightly above flood stage, while Buttrick Creek near Grand Junction and the North Raccoon River near Perry are under flood stage.
The National Weather Service has downgraded Greene, Dallas and Guthrie counties to general thunderstorm risk for severe weather, with marginal and slight risks more towards the southeastern portion of the state.
