Events continue this week for summer reading programs in libraries around Guthrie County.
The Iowa History Bus makes its stop in Stuart as part of summer events at the Stuart Public Library. The bus is open during normal library hours and is located at the corner of North Division Street and White Pole Road. The week will end with a casual trivia competition on Thursday, starting at 6pm.
The Mary J. Barnett Memorial Library will be closed on Thursday to prepare for the arrival of the “Hometown Teams” Smithsonian exhibit. There will be preschool story time at 10:30am on Friday, and the Smithsonian ribbon-cutting will be at 10:30am on Saturday, with a tailgate party to follow from 11am-1pm.
On Thursday, the Panora Public Library will be hosting a Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) program for 2nd-5th graders from 2-3pm. On Friday there will be story time at the Panora Public LIbrary for pre-kindergarten through 1st grade students from 10-11am. The Casey Public Library will have story time on Wednesday at 1pm, featuring the book, “The Bear and the Piano.”
Finally, the Adair Public Library will be hosting “Webster the Therapy Duck” on Thursday at 4pm. All events are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted.
