An Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center student was recently named as a delegate for this year’s Global Youth Institute in Des Moines. Incoming junior Taylor Lemke will represent Iowa as one of around 200 from around the country and the world.
The three-day seminar, in conjunction with the World Food Prize, gives selected delegates the opportunity to interact with Nobel and World Food Prize Laureates and partake in discussions on food security and agricultural issues. They will also get a chance to tour industrial and research facilities, participate in hands-on projects, and attend the annual symposium and awards ceremony.
Lemke was one of three AC/GC students selected as Borlaug Scholars in April, from which the delegates for the institute are selected. The institute will be held October 17-20.
