acgcThe ACGC softball and baseball teams will continue their seasons tonight in a West Central Activities Conference clash with the West Central Valley Wildcats in Stuart.

The Charger softball team is coming off a 2nd place finish in their home tournament this weekend. The team enters tonight’s contest at 7-9 (3-6) and has never lost to the Wildcats in their three matches as ACGC. The Chargers have outscored the Wildcats 36-2 in their three meetings, including a 12-2 performance earlier this season. In that game junior Savana Fuller led the team at the plate, hitting 2-2, drawing two walks, and scoring three runs. Freshman pitcher Jorja Hoover also got her first win of the season against the Wildcats, pitching six complete innings, striking out six, and giving up zero earned runs.

Like ACGC, the Wildcats also come into tonight’s Guthrie County showdown fresh off a tournament performance at Martensdale St. Mary’s. WCV is still looking for their first conference win of the season, but came within a combined three runs of Madrid and Ogden last week. Seniors Kenedy Lose and Taylor Beane lead the Wildcats through thirteen games this season. Lose has a team leading 21 hits and twelve runs, while Bean leads the Wildcats in home runs (3) and RBIs (14).

The Charger baseball team will also be in action against the Wildcats tonight, with the first pitch of their game set for around 6:30pm. Tonight’s softball clash between the Chargers and the Wildcats can be heard live on KKRF2 and the Raccoon Valley Radio Network. Pre-game coverage is set for 5:25pm with first pitch at 5:30 from Stuart.
