The competition week for the West Central Valley baseball team ended on a positive note. The Wildcats resumed their season in Stuart last night hosting the CAM Cougars in a nonconference contest. Tied at two entering the bottom of the fifth inning, West Central Valley scored five unanswered runs over the final two innings for a 7-2 victory. Junior Cole Arnburg registers the win on the mound, pitching all seven innings, allowing two unearned runs, four hits, and one walk, striking out 11 batters. Freshman Evan Taylor produced two doubles and batted in three total runs in the victory. The win is the second in a row for the Wildcats and pushes West Central Valley’s overall record to 7-8. The Wildcat baseball team returns to the diamond Monday in a West Central Activities Conference matchup against the AC/GC Chargers in Stuart.
