Offense was hard to come by for the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers baseball team Thursday night. The Raccoon Valley Radio Network was in Adel last night for a Raccoon River Conference contest between the Carlisle Wildcats and Tigers. Carlisle junior pitcher Isaiah Henrichs struck out 13 Tiger batters as the Wildcats picked up a 9-1 road victory over ADM. ADM allowed three runs apiece in the first, fifth, and seventh innings in the setback. Of the 13 strikeouts, six were looking by the Tigers something ADM head baseball coach Jason Book addressed on last night’s Fullers Petroleum Postgame Show. “That was the big elephant in the room, we took too many strike three looking,” Book said, “(It’s) something we’ve been working hard on, and actually improving on. We have to keep working on getting the barrel (of the bat) on the ball and put it in play.”
ADM junior Joe Finnegan scored the lone Tiger run as a courtesy runner for starting pitcher Logan Crannell, who led off the fourth inning with a walk. The loss is the third straight for ADM, dropping their overall record to 5-8. The Tigers are off today before playing a pair of games Saturday morning at the Glenwood Baseball tournament in western Iowa.
