Heads up for Raccoon River Valley Trail users, a couple sections of the trail will be closed next week for repairs.

Beginning on Monday, two repair projects for bridge approaches will take place on the bike trail. One bridge is two miles north of Cooper and the other is one mile north of Herndon. While work is going on, the trail will be closed from 267th Street to 290th Street in Greene County and from 100th Street to 110th Street in Guthrie County. Work is expected to take two days to complete, pending weather.

Greene County Conservation Director Dan Towers urges people to not go around or through areas of the trail that are closed off. He appreciates everyone’s patience while they make the necessary repairs to maintain the recreational trail.
