There are a few more youth programs starting up next week with the Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department.
Two tumbling classes will be held from Monday, June 11th through Thursday, June 14th at the Greene County Community Center. The first class is for beginners and will focus on increasing flexibility, strength and learning basic tumbling techniques. It is for kids ages eight and younger and the cost to participate is $25. The second class is for the more advanced tumbler. Added techniques include floor tumbling skills and using the low bar. That class is for kids ages eight and older and the cost to participate is $35. Both classes will be from 10:30 to 11:15am and will be led by Nicole Friess-Schilling.
Finally, an Art Camp will also be held at the community center in Jefferson from Monday, June 11th through Friday, June 14th. Kids in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade will use their imaginations to create a different piece of art each day. Supplies will be available for the camp that will be held from 1 to 1:45pm for pre-k through 2nd grade and 2 to 2:45 for those in third through fifth grades. Cost to participate is $20 and Lexi Miller will be the instructor.
