The start to the West Central Activities Conference week has been tough for the West Central Valley Wildcat baseball team (5-4 overall). The Wildcats have played a total of 10 innings in two games Monday and Tuesday this week, losing to Ogden (11-1 F/6) and Des Moines Christian (15-0 F/4) by a combined score of 26-1. West Central Valley came into the week boasting a 5-2 overall record before the pair of setbacks. The competition doesn’t get any easier tonight as the Wildcats visit Van Meter tonight for a doubleheader against Class 2A No. 5 Bulldogs (9-1 overall). First pitch of game one at 5 p.m. from Van Meter High School.
