Wednesday, May 30th
The Sheriff, deputies, Greene County EMS, and Jefferson Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident on 220th Street near H Avenue. Steven Murphy 59 of Jefferson was driving his 1991 Dodge W250 eastbound and blew a tire causing him to go in to the other lane. Steven side swiped James Symans 72 of South Dakota who was driving a 2017 Chevrolet K3500 with a box camper. The camper came out of the truck and blocked the eastbound lanes and had a propane leak. Both vehicle was totaled in the accident. Both drivers were taken to the Greene County Medical Center with minor injuries. Steven Murphy was issued a citation for failure to maintain control.
John Roberts 19 of Lamoni was booked into the jail to serve a sentence.
Russell Carns 51 of Roland was booked into the jail for failure to appear.
A deputy investigated a theft in the 600 block of 3rd Street, Rippey.
A deputy assisted with a unruly child in the 200 block of east Hager Street, Grand Junction.
Ricky Tuhn 57 of Grand Junction was booked into the jail for failure to appear.
A deputy investigated a single vehicle accident on 220th Street about 3 miles east of Jefferson. When the deputy arrived he found that the motorcycle was stolen out of the Jefferson. The driver of the motorcycle was Jody Schad 42 of Jefferson. The motorcycle was a 1979 Harley Davidson Flat head. The motorcycle was totaled in the accident. The driver was taken to the Greene County Medical Center with serious injuries. Charges are pending in the case.

A deputy investigated a go cart on the streets in Scranton.
A deputy investigated a harassment complaint in Dana.
A deputy investigated a car deer accident on 220th Street and X Avenue. Sydney Schiltz 18 of Jefferson struck a deer with a 2013 Nissan Altima. The estimated damage to the vehicle was around 3000 dollars.
A deputy investigated a theft in the 2200 block of B Avenue.
A deputy per some court order evicted residents from a house in the 900 block of North Street, Churdan.
A deputy investigated a civil issue in the 500 block of 5th Street, Rippey.
A deputy conducted a welfare check in the 100 block of V Avenue.
A deputy investigated a civil issue in the 300 block of Anyer Street, Dana.
A deputy investigated a theft of a vehicle at 17th and Main Street, Grand Junction. The vehicle was located and found not to be stolen.
Christopher Laurent 49 of Perry was booked into the jail to serve a sentence.
In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
