Over the next few days we’ll be giving an overview of the candidates running for state and county offices in contested races for Tuesday’s primary election. Today we focus on the two candidates running for the District Two Office of the Guthrie County Supervisors.
Challenger Rick Kness was featured on Raccoon Valley Radio’s Special Edition Primary Election Meet The Candidates In Depth News Magazine. Kness spoke about the reason he felt called to run for Supervisor. “I feel like we need more communication with the Supervisors to the taxpayers. I’d really like to see the Supervisors go back and run the County. That is why they’re elected, to do that.”
Incumbent Clifford Carney told Raccoon Valley Radio why he decided to run for another term. “I’ve enjoyed what I’ve done. Enjoy doing it. Very educational. If you go to that meeting every day you’re going to learn something, and after you’ve been there a while you understand how things work (and) how things need to be done. It’s just a wonderful experience.”
Both Republican candidates highlighted County infrastructure as a concern they would like to tackle if elected. To hear more from the candidates in contested primaries, click on the link below:
