Here’s a reminder that the food and hygiene product drive at the Guthrie County ISU Extension and Outreach Office ends today.
Program Coordinator Mary Ebert tells Raccoon Valley Radio the local food bank often sees a shortage during the summer, so they wanted to use the last two months of spring as an opportunity to help change that. She also thanks the community for the positive participation during the collection period. Donations can be dropped off at the Extension office during normal business hours by the end of the day and all items will go to local food pantries in Guthrie Center.
Suggested food items include: rice, instant potatoes, canned fruits and vegetables, peanut butter, canned chicken, and canned soup. Suggested hygiene items include: toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, and lotion.
