The annual Relay For Life in Guthrie County is a little over two weeks away. Event organizers are in final preparations for the big event on Friday, June 15th.
There are some final adjustments to the schedule, including a special guest. Spokesperson Kim Durst talks about the newest addition to the Relay lineup. “The Iowa Cubs “Cubbie” is going to be coming out and joining us from 4-6pm while we do the kids games. So they’re going to be able to come out, and meet Cubbie, and they’re going to get his autograph, and get pictures taken. So it’s going to be a lot of fun for the kids.”
The annual Team Bank Night will also be held in advance of the Relay. The event is on Monday, June 11th, from 5-7pm at Guthrie County State Bank in Guthrie Center. The time is set aside for teams to turn in fundraising money, drop off silent auction items, pick up participant shirts, and purchase luminaria. The general public is also welcome at the event.
