Unlike their regular season match earlier this month, yesterday’s regional semifinal between the No. 8 Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers and the Perry Jayettes went the full 80 minutes at ADM Stadium. The Tigers, who won 10-0 over Perry in 60 minutes of game action on May 8 in Adel, held on for a 2-1 victory over the Jayette’s Wednesday evening. ADM girls soccer coach Kelsey Gaffney tells the Raccoon Valley Radio Network that the opening goal of the game came off the foot of sophomore Delaney Barton off an assist from senior Silvia Angel. The game deciding goal came off the foot of freshman Ashlyn Watt. The victory improves ADM’s overall record to 16-2, advancing to Tigers to Monday’s Class 2A Region 3 championship match versus the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs at ADM Stadium. DCG topped Ballard in the other regional semifinal last night, 6-0.
