The Perry High School boys soccer team is heading to the Class 2A State Tournament tomorrow, but before they go the public is invited to wish them well and see them off.
Hy-Vee is hosting “Breakfast with the Blue Jays” starting at 9 a.m., and people are encouraged to show their support to the team as they make their fourth State Tournament appearance in five years. The Raccoon Valley Radio Big Red Radio will also be at the event to play music and provide public address announcements. As a reminder, Perry will play tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. on Field #9 at the James C. Cownie Soccer Complex in Des Moines. Tickets for the match are $10 and can be purchased at the gate, and parking at the venue will cost $5.
The eighth-seeded Blue Jays will take on top-seeded Pella in the first round, a rematch of a May 17th contest that the Dutch won 4-1 at home. Make sure to listen to live play-by-play coverage of the match on FM 99.7, AM 1310 KDLS, with pregame starting at 2 p.m. If Perry wins, they will play two more games at the tournament, both of which would be broadcast live on Raccoon Valley Radio.
