The Guthrie Center City Council will meet in regular session tonight.
The meeting will begin with a presentation from Guthrie Center Area Development Corporation President Dennis Flanery. The Council will also review the second reading on an ordinance to increase sewer rates. The increase is gradual over a five year period, with the first two years only being an increase of $1 for most residents. In the final year of the five-year period, the rates will increase by $2.22 for residents using 2,000 gallons or fewer per month. There will be additional charges for those using more than 2,000 gallons.
Other action items include: accepting the fiscal year 2016-2017 audit, opening bids for the fiscal year 2017-2018 audit, and a request to close 4th street on Saturdays for the Smithsonian Exhibit, presented at the Mary J. Barnett Memorial Library. The meeting will conclude with a presentation on workers compensation for the 2018-2019 fiscal year.
The meeting begins at 6:30pm at Guthrie Center City Hall.
