A major bridge project was recently completed and is back open to traffic in Greene County.

According to the Greene County Engineer’s office, the Greenbrier Bridge on County Road E-57 is now back open to traffic. County Engineer Wade Weiss previously mentioned that the bridge was in the plans to be done in 2018, but due to a crash involving a Pepsi delivery truck colliding with the bridge’s guardrail and falling to the creek, the structure was pushed up to last fall. The bridge was replaced by the end of 2017, but Weiss said additional pavement patching needed to be done.

The patching was completed on Tuesday and is now back open to traffic. The total cost of the project was $500,000.
