Greene County senior Rachael Danielson will be withdrawing from the final day of the Class 2A 2018 Iowa High School Girls’ State Golf Tournament at Lake Panorama National Course. Coach Heath Telleen sent word to Raccoon Valley Radio last night with the news that swelling in the surgically repaired knee would force Danielson to withdraw.
Danielson was making her third State appearance, but her first in Class 2A after finishing in eighteenth and sixth place each of the last two seasons while playing in Class 3A. Danielson shot 97 for the 18 holes on Tuesday and was tied for 25th place in the 78 person field. There are 18 more holes today as the tournament wraps up.
The Central College golf recruit has had multiple knee surgeries during her high school career. She took extra rest time from practice and competition this season to account for the repaired knee.
