A weekend overnight incident at a recreational area in Greene County resulted in two individuals suffering serious injuries.
Greene County Sheriff Jack Williams tells Raccoon Valley Radio that he and a deputy, along with Greene County Emergency Medical Services and the Jefferson Fire Department responded to a call at Flack River Farm just after 2am Sunday. Williams says two people were using the zipline and fell into two-feet of water. Both individuals suffered serious, but non-life threatening injuries and were taken to Greene County Medical Center by Greene County EMS for treatment.
Williams points out that neither person was wearing any safety equipment when they arrived on scene. He believes alcohol may have played a part in the incident. Since it was a medical call, Williams notes that the names of victims and the extent of their injuries are not being released.
