jefferson welcomeJefferson Public Works Department is continuing their service of spraying for mosquitoes this summer.

Public Works Director Dave Morlan tells Raccoon Valley Radio that they will be spraying for mosquitoes every Tuesday and Thursday evenings, weather permitting. Spraying will be done in the evening hours, right before sunset. Morlan notes that crews will also place pellets in standing water to help get rid of the pests. He asks residents to get rid of any standing water they have on their property to help reduce mosquitoes as well. Morlan adds that the mist spray the City uses for mosquitoes is safe for people, but if someone doesn’t like the smell, they can shut their windows.
