Greene County High School senior high jumper Megan Durbin has been named a recipient of a Des Moines Register Sports Award as a member of the 12 person Iowa girls track & field Elite team.

Durbin and others will be honored June 23 in Des Moines at Wells Fargo Arena. Tennis great Venus Williams will be the featured speaker.

The Iowa State University high jumping recruit finished in first or second place in the seven biggest meets of her career. She won a state title once and was second three times, in addition to winning two Drake Relays titles and finishing second at Drake once. She also placed sixth in the Class 2A 200 meter dash as a senior and anchored a pair of State qualifying relays.
