The 10th Annual Dallas County Sheriff’s Office All-Wheel Car Show is coming soon, and Sheriff Chad Leonard is looking forward to what he hopes is the biggest event yet.
Leonard says the purpose of the show is to support an organization that he and many other law enforcement officials around Iowa are very passionate about. “100% of the proceeds benefit Special Olympics of Iowa. We have Special Olympic athletes come out every year and they do the award presentation, and they hand out the trophies at the end. It’s a big deal for the athletes, and for us to be a part of it. A lot of different law enforcement agencies across the State of Iowa do various things to support Special Olympics, so this is one of those things.”
Leonard says there will be a wide variety of vehicles on display, everything from classic cars to tractors, motorcycles, and anything else with wheels. He also reminds people that they can still get involved with the show, whether it’s showing a car or volunteering at the event. Anyone interested can contact the Sheriff’s Office at 515-993-4771. The All-Wheel Car Show will be held rain or shine on Saturday, June 2nd, around the Dallas County Courthouse in downtown Adel. Registration will start at 9 a.m., judging will take place at 1 p.m., and awards will be presented at 3.
The Raccoon Valley Radio Big Red Radio will also be at the show, broadcasting live, playing music, relaying important information, and providing public address announcements.
