The 100+ People for Perry organization met for the tenth time in their history on Monday evening, and another local organization is now closer to funding its project.
The recipient for this quarter was chosen to be the Nudgers group, to help them pay for electrical work in their building located at 1316 2nd Street in downtown Perry. A representative from Nudgers spoke at the meeting and said it will take around $10,000 to outfit the space adjacent to the Perry Chief offices with electrical services. The representative said not having the electrical piece in place already cost them one potential tenant for the space, so they wanted to get it taken care of before seeking new renters.
The 100+ People for Perry selected the Nudgers project out of three that were presented, and each individual in the group gave $100 for a total donation of $7,000. The organization has now given $66,000 to ten local projects. Their mission is to invest in Perry’s future through supporting current projects which will advance the quality of life in Perry. They make four large donations each year, with each staying 100% in the community. The next meeting will be on Monday, August 27th.
