Greene County lost 3-1 to Saydel on Friday night on the northeast side of Des Moines in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference baseball. Coach John Hupp’s team is 1-1 on the season while the Eagles improved to 4-0. The contest was the first in the conference for both teams

The start of the game was delayed by severe weather warnings in Polk County. there were sunny skies overhead, but dark clouds to the north, which never materialized into more than a brief period of a few light sprinkles.

Next up for the Rams is the home opener on Tuesday, May 29 at Allensworth Field in Jefferson with non-conference Coon Rapids-Bayard.
