The 2018 Iowa High School boys golf season is in the books as the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers finished as one of the top eight teams in Class 3A. The Tigers competed Thursday and Friday at the Class 3A Boys State Golf Tournament at the Lakeside Municipal Golf Course in Fort Dodge. ADM shaved off 23 strokes collective from their round one score, taking them from ninth place to eighth in the final team standings with a score of 675. ADM topped Oskaloosa by two strokes for eighth place. The Central DeWitt Sabers are the 2018 Class 3A Boys State Golf Champions with a low score of 609.
ADM’s top individual mark came from senior Micah Moyer. Moyer, an Iowa Western Community College men’s golf commit, closed his high school athletic career with a fifth-place individual finish at state with a 36 hole score of 149. Moyer shaved seven strokes off his opening round score of 78. Other ADM scoring golfers include senior Matthew West carding 169, junior Adam O’Connor shooting 173, and senior Grant Curran scoring 184. The 2018 ADM Tiger boys golf team loses Moyer, West, and Curran to graduation.
