acgcThe ACGC softball team has hit the ground running with an impressive 3-0 start to the season. The Charger batters have certainly played a part in staying undefeated through the first week of regular season competition.

According to Quick Stats Iowa, the Chargers have scored 37 runs in their first three games, the eighth most in the state when compared to teams who have played three games. The only one scoring more in the West Central Activities Conference is Des Moines Christian with 38. Their first two games both ended in six innings after achieving the ten run rule. Compared to last season through the first three games, the Chargers have scored 19 more runs.

They also defeated Woodward-Granger for the first time in program history Thursday night, with a 12-7 victory in Woodward. Their next opponent, West Harrison, is one of the few teams averaging more runs scored. The Hawkeyes cruised to double-digit wins over Boyer Valley and CAM to start their season, and are averaging 14.5 runs per game to ACGC’s 12.3. That game is scheduled for Wednesday, with a first pitch set for 6pm on KKRF2.
