Recently, Guthrie and Adair counties both achieved the minimum requirements to be considered Home Base Iowa (HBI) counties.
Home Base Iowa is an organization dedicated to connecting veterans with careers and employment resources. The requirements for HBI designation include: at least 10% participation from eligible businesses that pledge to hire veterans; an incentive package given to veterans who decide to work or live in the county; signage displayed at major county entrance points; and a resolution of support from the County Board of Supervisors. Both counties will have a ceremony commemorating the designation, with more details on that to be released next month.
Greene County was the first to be recognized as a Home Base Iowa county. Guthrie and Adair join Greene, as well as Audubon County, as designated HBI counties, which encompases the entire Midwest Partnership region.
