Greene County RamsToday marks the end of the 2017-18 school year for the Greene County School District.

Greene County Schools Superintendent Tim Christensen reviews some of the major positive aspects that highlighted the year.

“To me it’s been an outstanding school year. A lot of very positive things going on. Obviously the bond issue passing would be a highlight and something we talked about at the (school) board meeting (last week). The inaugural season of soccer has gone very well. (I) Can’t say enough positive things about the things that have gone on this school year. (I) Very excited.”

At a school board work session, two students presented on building a gaming console, which Christensen points out as an example of what can happen when students work together.

“Display the true collaboration that we want the students to learn and then display it out in the workforce where they work together to build a computer game using the classes and the skills that they have had. We’ve got a lot of kids doing things out in the community (with) art doing some painting, the football team doing some volunteering as well. A lot of citizenship skills that the kids have learned and are displaying (I’m) very excited to see.”

Christensen hopes all students have a safe and fun summer break.
